How is it possible that we live in a world which offers every last way to connect, and yet we are more disconnected
than ever?
What is the smartest and most responsible use of technology?
How can technology help us stay human instead of enslaving us?
Yes, technology is convenient. Yes, it saves us time and money as we can connect across the globe without traveling. But we have noticed that technology can also drive quite a divide between us as we give attention to the virtual world instead of real people next to us. Real human connection comes first.
What is the smartest and most responsible use of technology?
to a human/humans present in the same room with us. That requires silencing our phones and putting them away (not just up side down and at the arm’s reach).
As we understand that a habit of handling one’s phone at all times is hard to break and some calls are important to take.
Over a written one. We choose making a call over sending a text. We choose making a video call over just calling on the phone. We choose interaction in person over anything else. In other words: we choose to share emotions over sharing emojis.
We are not saying “don’t text or email ever”. We just choose to connect voice to voice and eye to eye more.
We choose connection with other human over automation. We try to not use chatbots.
We are not against the AI. Let it be. It is useful sometimes. But we would choose to make a phone call and talk to a real person instead of texting back and forth with a machine.
We focus on real people in real life instead of phantom “friends” on social media.
We are not about complete disengagement from social media as we realize some useful aspects of it. We would not be on social media while in a company of a live human who is trying to engage with us.
We are all about quality time with children. Staring at our screens, even if we do it together, is not it.
We are not about giving a young child a device because it’s convenient for us as it guarantees some quiet time. Books, toys, and live humans are their entertainment. NOT SCREENS.
We are all about sharing our Humans Connected
values proudly and openly.
Nor are we about shaming others for not sharing our values.
